Currently, an unconnected system presents a significant obstacle for IoT technologies. The capability of 5G to transmit data more swiftly and accommodate additional connections can simultaneously tackle the existing challenge and streamline the management of connected devices. In contrast, with 4G/LTE networks, 5G will have the capacity to process data rapidly, which was previously a hurdle for IoT solutions. The result has been prolonged delays from the transmission of data to its reception. By utilizing the 5G network, more users could continuously transmit greater amounts of information without concerns of overloading the network, which had resulted in delays in the past. The 5G connectivity would enable everyone to harness the power of IoT technology. At present, the potential of IoT is extensive, but the prospective connectivity will be realized with 5G technology. Through the use of sensors, “Smart†applications can effortlessly send data even from thousands of miles away. In this paper, we examine the influence and significance of 5G on IoT along with its applications. As IoT becomes more established and vital due to the swift expansion of 5G, we discuss the establishment and importance of IoT over 5G. Finally, we emphasize the aspect of IoT concerning updated 5G technology.
