Social Engineering Attacks and their Prevention

Tripti Vaidya and Anjali Goswami
Abstract

This paper discusses the growing threat of social engineering attacks and proposes solutions to counter this risk. Social engineering attacks exploit human behaviour to gain access to confidential information and systems. Educating employees about social engineering attacks, implementing strict access control policies, and using technical controls such as camera monitoring and keyboard encryption can help reduce the risk of these attacks. The paper also highlights the challenges of establishing effective strategies against social engineering attacks and emphasizes the importance of developing more effective detection and countermeasure techniques and investing in cybersecurity education.
