In order to achieve wide bandwidth and high gain, we propose a Broadband Stacked Microstrip Patch Antenna structure having a microstrip feeding technique. The proposed Stacked antenna is performs in C band the frequency range of 4GHz to 10GHz. The antenna is designed with FR-4 and Roger RT 5800 material that has a dielectric constant of 4.4 and 2.2 loss Tangent 0.001 and 0.0009as substrate. The three layer stacked antenna resonates at 3.8 GHz, 6.4GHz and 8.6GHz with bandwidth of 260MHz, 300MHz and 450 MHz respectively. The stacked antenna provides gain of 2.29dBi, VSWR as 1.05, Radiation efficiency of 76.79% and Beam width of 95.57°.To study the inter-element distance effect on the antenna performance (directivity, input impedance and radiation efficiency), and a parametric analysis is performed. The obtained results show that for small distances high directivities can be achieved in the case of the fully driven element. The proposed antenna is used for a wide range of applications such as satellite communication, weather radar systems, Wi-Fi and ISM Band applications. The C Band is known to perform better than the standard Ku Band (11.2 to 14.5 GHz) for satellite communication in adverse weather conditions. The antenna Parameters are analyzed using High frequency structure simulator (HFSS) Tool.
