Impact of Endurance Oriented Skill Training on Selected Skill Performance Variables of Kho-Kho Players

Abstract

Background: Endurance-based skill training plays a vital role in enhancing the overall performance of Kho- Kho players, as the sport demands continuous running, rapid directional changes, sustained chasing, and repeated bursts of high-intensity movements. The program serves as a balanced involvement addressing skill performance needs on college level kho kho players. The training was envisioned to inspect the stimulus of endurance-based skill training on ability performance variables of inter educational kho kho players. Procedures: For the determination of the learning, forty Kho Kho players from affiliated colleges in Andhra University, aged from 18 to 21 years, were as selected participants. They were arbitrarily allocated to two equal groups (n=20). Group I underwent Endurance based skill training (EBST), while Group II served as the control group (CG). The experimental group trailed the training program three days per week for eight weeks. The variables chosen for assessment were pole dive, measured through the pole dive test, and single chain running test, analyzed through Zig Zag run test. Pre- and post-tests were conducted on separate days after a standardized warm-up. Outcome: The data were studied using the paired sample ‘t’ test, with the level of significance set at 0.05. Endurance based skill training showed a positive impact on pole dive and single chain running planes midst men kho kho players. The findings of the study further indicated significant improvement in pole dive and single chain running, which can be attributed to the effects of endurance-based skill training of inter collegiate kho kho players. Assumption: The data together from the subjects were statistically considered to evaluate pole dive and single chain running, which showed significant improvement as a result of endurance-based skill training. The findings of the present study are reliable with earlier research reports. Hence, it is decided that endurance-based skill training significantly enhances pole dive and single chain running of Kho Kho players.
