Handover Rate in Dense Femtocellular Networks

Dense femtocells are the ultimate objective of the femtocellular network deployment. Handover in a mobile cellular communication will turn into an increasingly critical issue as cell size reduce. In this paper, we propose the handover rate procedures based on user’s speed. The handover rate can be calculated by cell size, call density and user’s speed. The simulation results demonstrate that the handover rate decreases with the decrease of user’s speed.
