E.S. Lakshmi and Dr.P. Jothilakshmi
Abstract

The reconfigurable microstrip antennas are widely used for missiles, aircrafts, spacecraft, satellite and many other applications. In this proposed paper, two element array antenna with two microstrip patch antenna with round corner cut on all the corners are used with inset feed for each microstrip patch antenna and then connected to a corporate feed. A H-Slot is cut in the center of the each patch in the two-element array antenna. Three PIN diodes are used to bridge the gap in the slot to achieve frequency reconfigurability. The S-parameter, VSWR, 2D and 3D radiation pattern have been achieved for the forward bias and reverse bias conditions by analyzing the two element antenna array. The proposed design is simulated and analyzed using CST (Computer Simulation Technology) Microwave studio and compared in S-Band frequency ranges between 2 GHz and 4 GHz. This antenna is constructed for modern cognitive radio applications.
